Meet Shaunee
Informed. Relational. Relatable.
I'm a Registered Clinical Counsellor with a master's degree in Counselling Psychology and a professional background in restorative justice, conflict resolution, and community-based work.
While I welcome clients from all walks of life, my practice places a strong emphasis on trauma therapy, including supporting first responders and others navigating the effects of traumatic experiences such as victims of crime. I'm equally passionate about helping individuals pursue personal growth, deepen their self-awareness, and make intentional changes toward becoming the people they want to be. I have extensive experience supporting teenagers navigating behavioural challenges, difficult emotions, and complex life circumstances. In my work with couples, I have a particular interest in helping partners navigate betrayal trauma, rebuild trust, and explore the path forward in their relationships.
I believe good counselling starts with genuine human connection. While my practice is grounded in clinical knowledge and evidence-informed approaches, I don't believe that professionalism requires us to leave our personalities at the door.
My approach is conversational, compassionate, and leaves space for humour even when we’re discussing difficult things. I believe we can talk about difficult things without making every moment feel clinical, and that meaningful change often begins when people feel comfortable enough to be themselves.
Whether you're navigating personal challenges, family relationships, or simply trying to make sense of things and become the best version of yourself, my goal is to offer a space where you feel understood, respected, and supported without judgment, unnecessary jargon, or a one-size-fits-all approach.
